Making Art in 10-Minute Moments

Making Art in 10-Minute Moments

Think you need a free afternoon to be creative? Think again. Some of my favorite photos happened in 10-minute windows — before school drop-off, between laundry loads, after the kids fell asleep.

Quick Ideas for Creative Bursts:

  • Before/After Shots: The breakfast mess. Then the cleaned counter.

  • Light Watching: Spend 10 minutes noticing how light hits your room.

  • One-Subject Study: Choose one object — shoot it 3 ways: detail, silhouette, motion.

  • Creative Prompts: "Show me what quiet looks like in your house."

  • Solo Self-Portraits: A timer and a tripod or window ledge can go a long way.

Keep a running list of 10-minute project ideas on your phone. When you get a pocket of time, you're ready to go.
